The Star

A star shone brightly for many years,

and sprinkled stardust all around;

she made us smile when there were tears,

with loving arms she did surround.

A joy to be with, and wisdom to share,

there was room in her heart, and more to spare.

The shooting comet that once burned bright,

has disappeared into the dark of night;

but when we gaze into a starlit sky,

and see her as she twinkles high,

and feel the warmth of her ember glow,

it is our Star looking down below.

For my darling Simone, RIP, 5.06.2016
